Assist defense attorneys in the course of their work. The Paralegal should be familiar with analyzing claim files and records, preparing for hearings, preparing exhibits, pleadings, discovery, case management and file organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and organize client records
  • Assist in case management
  • Track and manage deadlines and discovery compliance
  • Obtain medical records
  • Process authorizations
  • Review and summarize medical records
  • Draft basic discovery
  • Trial preparation
  • Assess deposition transcripts
  • E-file court document

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • NC State Bar Paralegal Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of Court Rules and Procedures
  • Detail-oriented, motivated, creative and capable of managing multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines in a demanding, but rewarding, environment.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and under strict deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, exercising sound judgment, demonstrating good time-management and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to providing excellent client service, and effectively interact with clients as well as staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
